revo "question mark" (with revo prefect)

side #1

I found this bracket in the bushes of the public footpath near Cane Hill mental hospital. The replacement column, fitted with a Thorn Beta 5 had obviously been there for years; but the original had never been removed.

The bracket had come unscrewed from its spigot and had fallen into the undergrowth, smashing the REVO Magnalite it originally held.

side #2

The broken Magnalite was removed, and all the silver paint removed from the bracket. A spigot cap, snapped from a REVO B19 bracket, was restored and screwed in place. It was then painted green and a REVO Prefect was installed.

front #1

This was the last swan-neck bracket made by REVO; all the decoration, such as finials, scroll work and tulip joints had gone. I don't have a catalogue for this particular example, but collectors refer to them as 'question mark' brackets due to their distinctive shape.
