ESLA Bi-Multi Group 'AL' One-Way

Whilst collecting ESLAs being pulled out of Cheam Village in the mid-1990s, the lighting manager mentioned taking some old lanterns from the old yard to the new yard when they moved. I realise now how rare that occurrence would be, as now everything just goes in the skip; but ESLAs were certainly popular and the council probably did quite well selling the old stock.

Unfortunately, due to a cock-up, I missed out on a 2-way and 3-way. However, I wasn't leaving without this - probably one of the weirdest ESLAs I'd seen.

It took a while to even figure out what it was. This is an ESLA One-Way, a configuration so rare that it's not even mentioned in the catalogue.

It has been painted with red oxide, but still needs a lot of work.

This bracket and lantern originally stood somewhere in Sutton, South London.
