GEC Z5354

Not the most photogenic of lanterns, this little tungsten lantern was the last of the GEC open refractor lanterns, which makes it the last of the Wembley range.

Oddly it doesn't share the same canopy as the Z5580/Z5590 which it was contemporary with. It's also extremely rare; this is the only example I've ever seen.

Unfortunately it's missing its refractor dome, but it should be fairly easy to find another.

The lantern originally stood somewhere near Bodmin, Cornwall and was rescued from the council skip by David.

I obtained a replacement refractor from P. at a collectors' meet in February 2008. The lantern is now complete but still requires restoration.
