lee gale photographs

Journalist Lee Gale visited the museum whilst researching a piece for The Independent in 2005. The following are the reference photographs he took.

His article was published in The Independent on the 14th August 2005.

Part of the collection as seen from Yearling Close as you drive past the buildings. The collection is in a constant state of change as the two nearest brackets had lanterns when I took my photographs the next year.

A modern, wind-generated, solar-powered Phosco P777 stands amongst antique cast iron columns with a Parkinson Maxilla lantern in the background. This had been moved onto a feeder pillar when I visited.

Some of the post-top lanterns along one side of the building. These still seem to have their original colours.

The "Concrete Graveyard" of old Concrete Utilities columns and brackets can be found in the main car park.
