The area at the back of this location had been derelict for many years. After scrambling through the bushes, we found these two
Concrete Utilities Avenue 2D columns supporting Metropolitan Vickers Gower lanterns.
The lanterns were both in excellent condition and were complete; even retaining their mercury bowls, covers of the triangular cool wiring chamber
at the top of the lantern, and wire mesh enclosing the bowl.
