Description
The Amber Minor range is 'Group B' refractor lanterns for one 45/60W SOI/H, SO/H or 40W SOX lam, all of which
operate with the control gear supplied in the 'with gear' versions.
The lanterns comprise a die-cast aluminium canopy and bowl ring with a 'slip-in' extruded diakon refractor bowl giving a completely
sealed enclosure which conforms to the requirements of BS 1788 (revised) for street lighting lanterns.
Specification
The canopy is a one piece aluminium die-casting which houses the auxiliary control gear mounted on a sheet steel stove enamel
white gear tray/reflector. This gear tray which also carries the porcelain B.C. lampholder and lamp support is hinged at the end
opposite the spigot entry to give access to the control gear, terminal block and cable clamp.
The cover bowl which consists of an extruded diakon prismatic section with sealed in injection moulded opal end caps, is held
in a die-cast aluminium bowl ring, hinged at the column end and retained in position by a stainless steel toggle catch.
A weatherproof seal between the enclosing bowl and the canopy is ensured by the evenly distributed compression of a square section
neoprene gasket.
For ease of erection and to ensure a minium operating temperature, the cable clamp and terminal block are both located adjacent to the
bracket entry.
Auxiliary control gear comprising a transformer and capacitor is suitable for operation on a 200/250V 50 cycle AC supply.
Less Gear Lanterns
Essentially similar to the 'with gear' lanterns but with the control gear omitted.
Special Feature
The cover bowl is quickly detachable, it can be removed completely from the lantern for cleaning or during routine maintenance. The
actual cleaning operation can therefore take place at a more convenient level.
