beeby lantern

The Beeby is an open type streetlighting lantern suitable for use with 100/200W tungsten filament lamps or 80/125W mercury discharge lamps (types MB/U or MBF/U).

Application
For Group B roadways.

Specification
The Beeby lantern consists of a clear injection moulded plastic refractor attached to a die-cast gallery by means of a single turn thread. The refractor is located in the correct position relative to the gallery by a spring.

The refractor is a two part assembly, each part being manufactured from Diakon. The exterior surface is perfectly smooth and the interior vertical prisms have well-rounded tips. The horizontal prisms are sealed by the outer cover portion. Thus the accumulation of dirt is kept to a mininum.

The gallery is diecast from LM6 aluminium alloy and incorporates fixing positions for the porcelain lampholder, refractor locating spring and top entry for ¾in BSP threaded barrel. A black plastic cap covers, and is secured to, the gallery.

Light Control
The injection moulded Diakon refractor provides a two-way non-axial distribution and has been designed for use with tungsten or mercury lamps. It is particularly suitable for the lighting of Group B roadways.

Mounting
Top entry tapped ¾in BSP. A lock nut and washer are provided.

Weight
1¾ lb.
