This clutch of leaflets were housed in a smart AEI black ring-binder with lettering picked out in gold. Inside, the leaflets dated from the late 1950s through to the mid 1960s and documented most of the company's street lighting lanterns.

Some of the leaflets also coincided with the creation of British Lighting Industries, a company formed between AEI and Thorn when the later took a controlling share in AEI Lamps And Lighting. At this point, both AEI and Thorn sold each other's lanterns, and several examples can be found here.

Those familar with Thorn's Alpha, Beta and Gamma ranges will recognise many of the lanterns here. In 1968, Thorn purchased AEI Lamps And Lighting and continued to make many of these lanterns as part of their own range.
