The Brighton Junior lantern consists of a single-piece aluminium alloy casting of simple design and can be supplied to carry a single-piece Dome refractor or two-piece Duo-Dome refractor suitable for 60-200W gas filled or 80-125W mercury type lamps.

The lampholder is carried on a bridge which is screwed to lugs on the lantern interior to suit the size of the lamp used.

The single-piece glass is held in position by three spring-loaded hooks which engage in the recessed neck of the glass, whcih, while held firmly in position, is easily removed for cleaning.

The Duo-Dome glass has smooth surfaces, the two members being clamped togther with copper collars. The fixing of this type of the lantern is by three bolts with winged nuts threaded through the copper collars.

The lantern is normally used for side street lighting with 100-150 watt G.F. lamps, and is, therefore, listed under this heading. If other size of type lamps are to be used the bridge carrying the lampholder can be amended accordingly.

The glass refractors can be supplied for Symmetrical, Two-way Axial, or Two-way Non-Axial light distributions as required.
