The single-panel refractor lantern is extremely elegant in design and is ideal for the lighting of GROUP B road with 45 or 60W sodium lamps.

The illustration above shows the side entry type, and the illustration on the right shows the lantern fitted to the BRIGHTON "C" bracket, which is a suggestion for modernising the ordinary cast iron pillar.

This series of STREAMLINE lanterns for horizontal burning sodium lamps is the latest development in street lighting practise, and they give lighting results in accordance with the MOT Departmental Report for both GROUP "A" and GROUP "B" lighting.

They are also designed to harmonise with modern concrete columns and brackets and also improve the appearance of the ordinary cast iron pillar installations.

The deep end casting carries the lampholder and also a terminal block for easy wiring, and the front end casting is framed and glazed so that light is given in this direction.

The lanterns give a two-way directional light distribution, without excessive glare, with a maximum candle power from 79^o to 85^o from the downward vertical, and cover a wide angle across the roadway.
