Silver Ray Junior

Fulfils the demand for the modern trend in Group B lighting, using 80/125 Watt Mercury Lamps horizontally.

Specification

An exceptionally slim and pleasing appearance is obtained by mounting the lamp nearly horizontal in a shallow canopy with a gently curving perspex bowl.

Both canopy and bowl ring are die-cast in corrosion resisting aluminium alloy LM6, gasketted to eliminate dirt and moisture and secured by stainless steel hing and toggle catch.

The perspex bowl is semi-elipsoidal in shape with a clear stipple finish. This gives an extremely strong structure difficult to damage by stone-throwing, etc.

The sides of the bowl are shaped to give the minimum obstruction to the main beam which is controlled by highly reflecting metal mirrors.

The optical system consists of two main side reflectors and two auxiliary reflectors under the lamp to deflect the excess light from immediately under the lantern into the main beam.

It compiles with B.S. 1788/1951.

Weight 7¾ lbs.

Performance

Non-cut-off medium beam angle narrow beam with high intensity peak. Sufficient light is directed above the horizontal to give a pleasant effect in residential roads, but with less glare than with vertical burning lamps.

The reflector system is symmetrical but the lantern is intended for angle mounting up to 25° from the horizontal, thus directing the main beams on to the road.

Fixing

Side entry 1" B.S.P. plain minimum length 4½", maximum length 5", located by two Allen screws.

Contour of entry boss blends with the "ELECOSlim" and most other concrete columns.

A top entry version is also availabe.
