Holophane Band Type Refractors are of a special design for use inside lightly diffusing globes. They are of
two piece construction, with the refracting prisms sealed within two members.
The members are fixed together by two metal nuts screwed on the neck of the glass, the top nut forming a locking device for
fixing to the metal lantern.
Both members are constructed with refracting prisms only, therefore the necessary diffusion of the light rays is obtained
from a lightly frosted external blown glass globe.
