Highway Reference Book 1951

Dating from 1951, The Highway Reference Book included a page of Lucy's lanterns and brief descriptions of their uses.

PROGRESS IN STREET LIGHTING BY ELECTRICITY

W. LUCY & CO. LTD., EAGLE IRONWORKS, OXFORD.

One type of lantern made by this firm has a cast-iron watertight hood with vitreous-enamelled reflector. Correct positioning of the 60/150-watt lamps in the reflector is effected by thre three nuts on the studs carrying the suspension springs.

In addition, a directional street lighting lantern and pedestal head, suitable for lamps up to 200 watts, is produced.
