The fitting comprises a cast-iron weatherproof doem incorporating a terminal block, access to which is obtained by removing the
side cover plate; and a heavy guage sheet steel vitreous enamelled one-piece canopy, equipped internally with two guaranteed
silvered mirror reflectors of special formation to control the light distribution in two main beams. The mirros may be individually
rotated around the vertical axis of the lamp and fixed in any desired position so as to vary the angle between the two beams from
90 degrees to 180 degrees.
One of the silvered mirrors may be dispensed with for use in positions such as the ends of cul-de-sacs. A third mirror may be
added for the lighting of T-junctions.
Each unit has facilities for correct focussing of the lamp. The fitting can be provided with clear cover glass which is secured by
means of a cast iron retaining ring when required.
A porcelain shockproof lampholder for the appropriate size lamp is included and the fitting is of the easy wiring pattern.

The recommended maximum spacing-to-height ratio for cut-off lanterns is 4-1 e.g. at 25ft. mounting height
the normal spacing should not generally exceed about 100ft.
