This street lighting fitting comprises cast aluminium alloy canopy and frame with internal high quality
stainless steel reflector system, specially designed for use in conjunction with glass panels
(Patent applied for) each of which has a plain upper section and a prismatic lower section. There are
two reflectors on each side of the linear light source - an upper reflector, which fulfils the purpose
of redirecting light through the plain upper section of one of the glass panels and an auxiliary lower
reflector which has the dual function of directing light through the prismatic section and of preventing
light direct from the source being transmitted through the plain section.
By this arrangement a highly effective utilization of the toal light available is obtained as is
evidented by the high overall light output efficiency, while only a small percentage of the lantern
output is emitted above the horizontal.
The lower portion of the lantern is hinged to the canopy and access to the interior is readily obtained
by releasing two toggle action fasteners of stainless steel.
Wiring from the terminal block to the lampholder is provided. REVO magnetic deflectors
(Patent applied for) are normally supplied to maintain the arc of the lamp in its correct position.
A curved panel of diffusing glass is fitted at each end and the bottom panel is of figured glass.
The lantern is completely proofed against the ingress of dust or insects and sealed glas cover panels
are provided for the prisms to facilitate maintenance. Provision is made for side or top entry
mounting.
