Catalogue Number 18: Electric Lighting Equipment
REVO catalogue number 18 was put together between 1954 and 1957 and comprised of
twelve sections in a binder. Many of the sections were devoted to electrical appliances and
domestic equipment with
four sections devoted to street lighting (lanterns, gear, brackets and columns).
Dating is difficult as the prices date from 1954, whilst the domestic equipment section dates from
1957. Additionally many of these lanterns were shown for the first time at the APLE's
conference in Liverpool in 1953; and the particular REVO logo used also
dates from 1953. Therefore it could be assumed that the catalogue dates from 1953/4 with a later
price sheet included.
This catalogue has been circulating as a collection of photocopied sheets for years. But another catalogue
has recently appeared (from Mikey Ashworth, and so I've been able to order the
existing photocopies, and now replace them with better scans.)
This document covers lanterns and fixtures owned by many of the collectors in the UK, so should
be of great use for them.
