Are exhibiting the new Eclipse lantern with a new and novel form of mounting. The lantern itself which
has been manufactured for many years is not altered, except that the gas supply is taken in at right angles
to the body. The main feature of this design of mounting is to facilitate installation and maintenance. Air and gas
regulators and the clock controller are facing the same direction i.e. facing the ladder which is in line
with the curb. The special feature of the mounting is that the entire lamp can be disconnected from the column by
undoing the large top cap. The clock controller can be disconnected separately by undoing the by-pass tap and
Comet igniter. - APLE Exhibition Catalogue 1949
