And here was the infamous railway semaphore - the signal that everyone who visits the tunnels usually mentions.

How did that get down here? It was probably part of the nearby railway, being brought in when the bunker was being used as a dump.

When the garage eventually gave up and moved out, the tunnels were used as a public tip - until they were sealed up.

Shelving from the garage’s days could still be found with items neatly piled in each compartment. This was one of the few still standing - vandals had tipped over most of them.
