Our deviation was short lived as the original intention was to visit the south-west corner of the
Administration Block. Therefore we didn’t move through Allen/Andrewes but instead retraced our steps
back to the corridor network and then moved south. This route took us past many of the hospital’s health
care areas: the dentists, X-ray room and other medical facilities. Many of the former barricades had now been
ripped off door frames allowing limited exploration of some newly accessible parts of the buildings.
The elegant fanlight and stained glass of the south-western entrance to Administration was still in-situ although
it was beginning to look a little battered. Thieves had been busy elsewhere and the banisters had all now been removed.
