cane hill | goodbye cane hill

The view from the upper storeys revealed the complex patchwork of buildings, rooftops and gables which characterised the complex Cane Hill landscape. The demolition work couldn’t be seen from here; even though the Stores, Laundry and buildings around the Water Tower had all been swept away, the view remained unchanged.

The first storey of the Pharmacy could be seen in the distance and I was pleased we’d crossed that mystery off the list. However, this reminded me that there was still the unresolved question of Keith Boucher's mysterious basement windows which he’d photographed near Browning/Blake.

I made a mental note to search it out as we’d be walking past that area as we returned to the female side of the hospital.
