Some of the single rooms were much more sparsely decorated and appeared ever more narrow and claustrophobic.
The windows were mounted much lower (another difference from those in the acute wards), but due to ward being
embedded between two radial spurs, these windows simply looked out into the connecting corridors rather to the outside world.
