We kept moving down Wesley, past all the individual rooms, pretty much ignoring them.

All the doors here were open. In other wards, they were locked shut.

The doors and elegant arched window of Wesley’s second ‘day room’ could be seen at the bottom of the corridor.

The arched windows on the right were magnificent. They must’ve let in a huge amount of light in the mornings. The corridor even had its own bay window - Cane Hill was an opulent place once.
