The administration block is the only part of Cane Hill to have a basement. I was
interested in seeing how far this unmapped, and unexplored, part of Cane Hill went.
It turned out that the basements were quite small, occupying floor space under the two
outjutting wings at the front of the hospital, and a small section in the center.
There was enough space for four large rooms in each side basement,
and a couple of rooms in the central basement.
They were reached by a twisting staircase and were totally dark. Torches were needed
for the first time and it was very cold.
The first basement we entered was the Administration Offices at the
eastern end of the administration block. And it was here that we found
this walk-in safe, one of two. And both were still locked.
