After Laurence gave us an excellent tour of the Cane Hill bunker, it was time to emerge into the August sunshine and sneak our way into the ruinous hospital itself. For it was my turn to act as tour guide and help our party around its labyrinthian depths.

So I gained a brief outline of what everyone wanted to see (Admin Block, Chapel, Mortuary, Kitchens, Water Tower and a ward or two) and we quickly and quietly slipped into the buildings.

Strangely I was being rather unimaginative - simply wanting to locate a ward with some rather fun multicoloured blinds, discover a room full of clocks and find a grim, almost underground, cluster of cells.

And I wanted to see if the ECT machines were still in Browning/Blake.
