OK, now we’ve got to get your accommodation sorted. How about this attractive lodge? It’s
situated to the back of the hospital by the footpath. I guess the gardens are slightly
overgrown, but this should be child’s play compared to that fence!
(Seriously: It is slightly unbelievable but I missed this building every time I walked past it
previously. The reason is simple. As you leave the Portnalls Road, walk down the footpath, and then
take the bend, the triple-storeys of Kings Ward loom over you, everyone says "Holy shit - look
at the size of that thing" and then you’re drawn to the hospital complex proper. However, if you pause,
and look to your left, then you’ll find that you’ve just circled around this small lodge, which I
believe was used as a nurses’ home.)
