Blomfield also selected the standard southern option of red brick, stone mullion
dressings and grey slate for the majority of the asylum buildings. The Administration Block had elements
of a Queen Anne style, which was undergoing a renaissance at the time, but the rest of the hospital was not
overtly decorated.
