The map clearly shows how the hospital’s orientation and plan was dictated
by the land of Nocton Hall (the burnt-out shell of the house can be seen top-left).
The hospital comprises of two main sections of parallel ward pavilions linked by an extremely long,
straight corridor which traverses the entire site.
We spent our time in the central section of the hospital complex. Our furthest trek was to the boiler
house, the chimney of which can be seen at the top centre of the plan.
