Severalls had been completely stripped bare. Cane Hill, Bourne (and
as I found out later) Whittingham still kept some part of their hospital accessories – being mainly curtains, carpets and odd bits of furniture lying about.
But Severalls was absolutely empty. There was nothing left in here.
Apparently this was done to prevent fire. And we’d see this policy taken to absolute extremes in other parts of the hospital.
However, there were clues – and many of these distribution panels were marked with the function of the surrounding rooms. And whilst the Pharmacy was slightly exciting, the thought of finding the
Operating Theatres was even more so.
