The exteriors of Severalls were overgrown and out-of-control. Nature was reclaiming the buildings, brick by
brick. A tree smashed through a shelter, an ivy leaf pushing through a broken window. Severalls was succumbing slowly.
We looked out over the complex and saw a fox in an airing court. Briefly it stood in the sunlight before
disappearing into Severall’s internal corridor network. We weren’t the only visitors that day.
