Little did I realise that I'd be back at West Park a week later.
Freelance writer Rhodri was interested in urban exploration and asked if he could come along
on a trip. The piece was being pitched to the The Independent and they sent along one of their
photographers Ben.
The day was a success as we
retrod our original route (sans Water Tower), stopping for photo opportunities in the wards, tunnels, main hall and
the padded cell. Emerging from the cool and damp building, we sat in the blazing sunlight at a local pub and
discussed the forthcoming feature. It was decided that the location would not be mentioned and West Park's anonymity
would be guanteed.
