Frances Scott’s wife, Mildred, wasn’t the most cheery of ladies. When catching children scrumping apples in the orchards by the Hall, instead of sending them home with a clip around the ear, she took them to court.

"Your reference to Mildred taking children to court according to Alan Godfrey of the Godfrey edition number 68.04 1901. Mildred took a boy to court in 1892 for stealing bluebells." - Peter
