The second floor was a simply a small room with plant, switchgear and various controls. However, its
four windows gave great elevated views over the rest of the site.
The view north showed the goods yard, railway sidings and the main railway track bisecting the site.
We then heard the unmistakeable rattle of a diesel van. Peering through the window, we saw a Hanson van
drive slowly around the press shed before disappearing from view behind the buildings.
We had company. Luckily our route east meant we’d be shielded from prying eyes but it now confirmed that security were on site and were patrolling.
