ground floor plan

Blue print of the ground floor of the hospital. Dated 1979, it's a direct copy of the original 1888 plans with modern extensions. All the old airing court details have been removed.

first floor plan

Blue print of the first floor of the hospital, dated 1979.

second floor plan

Blue print of the second floor of the hospital, dated 1979.

aerial view

Amazing view of the hospital from late 2002. The fire damage to various wards and the main hall helps to date the photograph, but it's all the pews stacked outside the admin block which really gives the game away. (The Chapel was cleared between my July and December 2002 visits).

old development plan

An early development plan for the hospital shows what will probably ultimately happen to the site. Some things have changed as the new Coulsdon bypass is now being built through the grounds. But this was the idea for the technology park which has currently been shelved.

It's good as it shows the entire site including the bunker (unlabeled), an unexplored region (labeled as Possible site for the SASS unit - which ended up next to the hospital) and the names of the lodges (The Postern known as the small nurses' home near the footpath, North Lodge and the arsoned and demolished East Lodge where security now live). In the future, I'll annotate and mark other areas of interest on this plan.

All the plans in this section were from the laura files except the aerial shot
