PRESS
WIRED: MENTAL! (OCTOBER 2003)

One of the earliest (and innocent) pieces about urban exploration at Cane Hill was a three page spread by Croydon’s Wired. The listing magazine wanted a spooky location for their Halloween Special and I got into the spirit by suggesting the curious could even take a walk along the public footpath adjacent to the asylum to "savour" the atmosphere.

I happened to phone Phil a week before its publication. I was unaware he’d been back to Cane Hill several times since our trip that August, unaware that he’d been caught, and unaware that security were itching to get their hands on me. But I was well aware that in the following week the local magazine were publishing a lengthy piece written by me, innocently suggesting that the citizens of Croydon and neighbouring districts should go and take a look at the place.

I doubt it helped the situation at Cane Hill and was one of the reasons why I kept a very low profile from then on.
