The scattered remains of the old hospital stood stripped and empty until January 2012 when David Wilson Homes started work on the site again, commencing with the demolition of Orchard House and the start of the conversion of the historic buildings.

As part of this work, the company designed a series of historical interpretation panels. These outlined the history of the site, taking information from Gwyneth Stratten's Rauceby Reflections and this website.

David Wilson Homes should be commended for both their preservation of as much of the original site as possible and for embracing the previous "difficult" history of these buildings.
