These storage rooms, which comprised the top-right section of the service road, were split
into six sections. Time didn’t allow us to fully investigate them all but this was
the second of the main rooms.
If you ever wanted a ladder at Cane Hill, this was the room for you. All shapes and sizes could be
found in here, gently rotting in the dank quietness.
The key phrase here is rotting. I expect these are now ‘comedy ladders’ of the sort that
break with any sort of weight on them.
On shelves were stacked multitudes of objects covered in a decade of grime and filth.
After an obligatory period of picking up various crud-encrusted things, we took a small
corridor (or rather clambered and crawled through a pile of tables) and emerged in the hospital’s
main corridor network.
