British Steel "Hockey Stick"
This is the staple design in the UK at the moment for side entry 5-6M columns. It's nicknamed the "hockey stick"
after its distinctive shape.
This example was made by British Steel, probably in the 1980s. The design is much older, and the
first "hockey sticks" probably started appearing in the 1960s.
It was obtained for mounting and photographing various lanterns in the collection. It's been temporarily installed and still
has its original Thorn Beta 5 lantern.
