Thorn (when merged with EMI) modified the popular Alpha 8 making it more streamline and creating the entire body out of GRP. The bowl refractor design was also altered.

The lantern is fitted with 250W SON.

It was installed somewhere in Nottinghamshire and was obtained as a swap with Claire Pendrous.
