crompton parkinson: exterior lighting

By the late 1960s, Crompton was virtually out of street lighting lantern manufacturing and was concentrating on its core lamp business instead. Two pages of their comprehensive lamp catalogue from 1969 were devoted to the last of the company’s exterior lighting range.

Three of these four lanterns were ELECO models and were probably rebadged by Crompton when ordered. The last true Crompton lantern was the Star; I suspect this was the company simply selling the last of their stock.

Note that the last lantern (the SG275EX) appears to be incorrectly specified. The picture shows the gearless Golden Ray lantern for 35W-55W lamps whilst the text describes a different lantern, with gear, and of different dimensions.
