Fluorescent Reflector Lanterns

For Groups A and B Lighting

Phosware P143 and P145 Lanterns are totally enclosed side entry type for use with 2 or 3-80W 5 ft. fluorescent lamps for Group A lighting.

The lantern is of remarkably good quality, very robust and designed on extremely good lines to match the graceful shape of the Highway X Column.

The Hood which is 70 in. long x 15 in. wide is cast of aluminium-alloy in one piece and therefore forms a very strong support. It is arranged for side entry mounting by means of 19 in. of 1½in. BSP plain tube.

To the Hood is hinged a heavy guage Perspex bowl of elegant shape which is opalised at each end, the remainder being clear. THe hinged bowl is fitted on one side with three quick release Oddie catches.

The optical system consists of two high purity anodised aluminium reflectors of special design to control the maximum flux from the two side lamps and a small reflector at the base for the lower lamp.

The reflector system is mounted on shaped castings which are tied by means of rods and hinged to the hood forming a complete unit with the lamps.

The control gear which is a special instant start type is fitted on a separate tray screwed to the underside of the hood so that the whole of the wiring including the lamp holders can be detached from the hood if required.

Standard Finish: Exterior, Hammered Metallic Beige; Interior, white enamelled.

P141 Fluorescent Lantern

For Group "B" Lighting


P141


Phosware P141 lantern is a totally enclosed Side Entry type for use with either 2-2ft. 40 Watt or 2-2 ft. 20 Watt fluorescent lamps, for Group B lighting.

The lantern which is designed for 15 ft. mounting is admirably suited for mounting on a bracket having a 25o tilt.

The Hood is cast in aluminium-alloy with a hinged ring which carried a Perspex bowl with fluted ends, clear sides and a mottled finish base. The bowl is fitted to the body casting with a substantial end hinge and a simple Oddie catch. The bowl is sealed to the body with a felt gasket.

The lantern is arranged for side entry to take 1 inch B.S.P. plan tubes 5½ inches long and is fixed to the bracket with heavy set screws.

The light control is by special high purity polished and anodised aluminium reflectors designed to give a wide lateral light distribution in accordance with the B.S. Code of Practice for Group B roadways.

The reflector assembly incorporates the four Bi-pin lamp holders and consists of shaped castings which are hinged to the body and form and enclosed compartment in which the Control Gear is housed.

The complete lantern has clean lines is robust in construction and easily accessible for maintenance. Finish: White interior and Hammered Metallic Beige exterior.

As standard these lanterns are supplied wired complete with instant start Control Gear.
