gec z8228b harp bracket

The GEC modified their standard Z8128 range of lanterns (which were side entry) by including another arm for a bracket and fitting the lantern to a harp bracket.

This version of the lantern is known as the Z8228 range.

It was popular in car parks, docks and areas which required symmetrical lighting. It was used in large numbers by British Rail who installed it in large numbers by stations, in loading yards, alongside the tracks etc.

This lantern is fitted with the Z8228B Difractor optical system.
