STREAMLINE PRISMATIC PANEL LANTERN
For 45-60W And 80-140W Sodium Lamps.
No. 612
|
BLEECO STREAMLINE lanterns are made in two sizes, No. 611 a single panel length to accomodate the 45 or 60W, and No. 612, a two-panel
length, as illustrated, to accommodate the 85 or 140W sodium lamps.
The 85-140W size is made in two types, Nos. 612-613 with double prismatic control panels, the prism surfaces being sealed within
the other; and Nos. 614-615 with single prismatic control panels, the prism surfaces being sealed with Perspex covers for protection
from dirt and from mechanical fracture.
The shape of the lantern has been designed particularly to match
up with the modern types of reinforced concrete pillars and brackets.
The construction is simple and robust. The lantern consists of a one piece cast aluminium
alloy hood, to which is bolted two end castings which carry the metal frames
incorporating the doubled sealed prismatic panels which give light control.
The deeper end casting also carries the lamp holder and a terminal block for wiring.
The front end casting is framed and glazed so that light is also given in this direction.
The double prismatic panels, which offer a smooth surface both inside and outside, are fitted
in separate metal frames, which frames are removable from the main frame as required.
The castings are made in 2L.33 non-corrosive aluminium alloy, and care has been taken in the
construction to avoid complicated small parts and to provide a lantern which gives accessibility
and easy of maintenance.
The lantern gives a two-way light distribution, without excessive glare, with a maxinum candle-power
from 75o to 85o from the downward vertical, approxmiately
3 times that of the bare lamp and covering a very wide area.
