new kingsland
Introduced in 1938. Advertised as used by the largest Gas Undertakings (which is referring to the original Kingsland Controller). Specially designed for stret lighting. Operation for lighting is instantaneous whilst the extinguishing is slow (approximately 15 mintes). The bye-pass is extinguished some minutes after lighting and re-lit during the extinguishing operation. The movement runs for 21 days with one winding. The dial is fitted with pointers, which do not obscure any part of the dial. The case is heavy gauge brass, detachable from cock. It may be operated for testing burners without disturbing dial or pointers. The controller is also used for many domestic and industrial heating purposes. Setting of the dial pointers is simple and requires no adjustment of screws or nuts. The dial is not disturbed during winding. The cock is designd with parallel plug metallised to reduce friction. Provision is made for lubrication. The controller may be operated for testing burners, without disturbing dial or points.
