Sangamo full range | Time Switches

ss
The most important feature of this time switch is that it has been designed to combine the requirements of a large range of switching applications. This is a small synchronous switch particularly suitable for street lighting control. The switch is of the plug-in type, the mechanism being enclosed in a neat all insulated moisture proof base and cover of moulded bakelite. The base forms the plug receptacle, incorporates a wiring diagram and for added safety an earthing terminal. The switch will plug into standard street lighting post boxes, a feature of the base being that it also forms the plug receptacle and thus eliminates the need for a separate terminal block. It is rated at 10A for 250V. The standard day dial is interchangeable with the solar dial on site, allowing the switch to be readily adapted for a wide range of other applications. The switch can also be supplied with a day omitting device and with an external manual operation feature. The day omitting device can disable whole sequence of operations for any day or days of the week. The solar dials are designed for different latitudes and settings can be made up to three-quarters of an hour on either side of normal sunrise and sunset times to compensate for longitudinal variation. It is housed in a mosture-proof bakelite housing, is a plug-in unit, has a day-omitting device and an external manual operating device, and has the added benefit of being an all-enclosed mechanism. The switch is simple and robust in construction and is thoroughly tested before despatch to ensure its accurate and reliable performance. The standard day dial is fitted with one "On" and one "Off" level with which settings can be made for minimum periods of 20 minutes between operations. Extra levers up to three "On" and three "Off" with similar mininum intervals between settings can be supplied. Solar dials are designed for four different latitudes. By removing a retaining screw and reversing the time pointer in its setting, the day dial can be interchanged with the solar dial on site. All live parts are totally enclosed when the mechanism is fitted in the base. The "SS" time switch is supplied in several forms and is suitable for lighting, heating and power circuits. All switches are supplied as single-pole, single-throw types and the 24-hour dial and solar dial switches are also available with single pole, double-throw change oever contacts. A day omitting device to cut out operations on any predetermined day or days of the week may be fitted.
